Strengthening rural care through flexible workforce training

To support growing demand for high-quality hourly care in rural communities, Christies Care launched its Hourly Healthcare Assistant Training Academy. Blending digital and face-to-face learning, the programme has trained 164 carers since 2023, supporting over 500 clients. The initiative has improved retention, enabled branch expansion and strengthened the organisation’s reputation for outstanding person-centred care.

Christies Care sought revalidation for a mature induction programme for carers, which has developed to become an accessible, sustainable and practical blended programme. This externally-recognised programme continued and improved during the Covid-19 pandemic, ensuring that training remained at a crucial time, that demand was met and turnover of £1.7 million was achieved.
