This Council re-launched its Apprenticeship programme as a way of providing opportunities for those not in education, employment or training and also to address an ageing workforce with an average age of 44-56. NEET individuals undertaking the programme has risen from 9% to 22% and 76% of those recruited in 2018-19 were under the age of 25, helping to address the issue of an older workforce.
